5 Life Lessons From an artist

5 Things I learned from this past year being a full time artist:
1. It's ok to have creative ruts. Creative slumps are normal. I never want to be a "content creator" for I create art for myself. It's not to entertain others, not for another's uses. Me. My best work comes after those breaks because I was growing in the stillness
2. I can feel bored with a project, lose passion to do it, and it can STILL be successful. Boredom is normal. BUT Showing up and working through the boredom is vital.
3. Even after a big sale, I get filled with self doubt. Why did they buy that from me? Are they going to regret it? I wish I could re edit that image... etc I remind myself that this is normal to feel after I just did something that was vulnerable. There is bravery in doing.
4. It's ok if I make bad art. I won't mint it, but I will share works in progress, semi finished images, pieces I will never mint. I like sharing what I am working on I learned to strive for deeper meaning beyond perfection. For perfection is an excuse people use too often.
5. Procrastinate. I do it ALL. The. Time. But I also don't waste that procrastination time. I will put off something to do something I really want to do. That keeps me going forward and up.
