Why value creative people?

Short answer is because creatives are the entrepreneurs who attract new business with their innovative ideas and out of box thinking.

The long answer is that creativity can often be seen as a hindrance within traditional corporate structures, and although companies need creatives, their structures actively cancel the very people they need. At the lower levels of the corporate hierarchy, creativity is often discouraged and employees are expected to follow established procedures with precision and efficiency. This leads to a filtering out of creative individuals, who struggle to conform to these expectations and may find themselves stifled and their spirit suppressed.

However, it is often the creative individuals who rise to the top and become entrepreneurs that are the most valued in companies. They bring new ideas and a willingness to bring about innovative solutions, which is crucial for generating new business. Creative entrepreneurs are highly valuable, but can be difficult to find within a system that does not foster creativity.

The traditional American dream of rising from the bottom to the top is often unattainable, and horizontal progression is a more achievable method of progression. What I mean by horizontal progression is the hiring workers from one company into higher positions. This diagonal progression brings up the creative and entrepreneurial individuals who are being smothered at the bottom, to be at the top where they are more effective and beneficial to the companies since they are able to do what they are good at; finding creative solutions for their employers. as they have the potential to bring new ideas and approaches that benefit the company as a whole.

While employers may not explicitly seek out creative individuals, they should recognize the value that creative individuals bring to their companies. 

By fostering creativity and promoting entrepreneurial thinking, they create an environment where innovation and growth are encouraged.

This place where creative individuals can be supported and thrive in, is where the solutions of the future will be born from.
